Proposition: Children who have both a mother and a father in the home benefit not just from more care, but from a diversity of care.

Agree or disagree?

ETA: This is a generalization, with all things being equal in every scenario.

I'm sure there are exceptions, but yes, I think anyone who's honest would have to say that's true (more often than not)

Yes, of course. We're talking in very broad generalities here.

Agree.

And this is why I have no problem with heterosexual couples being preferred as the first option for something like adoption.

I don't know

My natural inclination is to agree based on my own childhood without a father.

I would agree it would be a culmination of both parents and the different attitudes from the masculine and feminine point of the psyche.

This is my reasoning too. I just think each sex gives the child something the other sex can't give, not for lack of effort but simply because men and women are so different.

Exactly. Two men or two women cannot possibly add both parts. I am sure that some shrink is out there some where ready to prove that a lesbian male counterpart has the same psyche as a man and the same with the homosexual counterpart and even to go on to the transgender-ed ones as well. I would think that would be not true for all cases of differing sexuality.

Of course.

But it doesn't mean a homosexual couple can't provide a good home and positive experience for a child.

literally no one has said that. Statistically, they are the same, but I guess we're speaking on a more subjective criteria

No, of course not. Actually, I was thinking more of single parent homes vs. two parent homes. I read today that about 41% of kids in America right now are born into single parent homes. I was wondering if we've lost sight of the importance of a mom AND a dad in the home.

i'd like to see the harvard study attributing that stat to blacks and the lack of understanding of what marriage is by idiotic white people who think we should always be horny and stimulated by anorexic 22 year olds with fake tits and tattoos on their asses.

Last time I checked it was 72% of black children born to single unwed mothers

72%.

I think it's 73% now. That is, IMO, the most staggering statistic in America right now.
