Travel question about Mobile area

Has the I-65 bridge between Mobile and Montgomery completed it's repairs yet?
My son and his buddies are leaving tomorrow for Atlanta. If it is still messed up I was going to send them through Birmingham.

why do they need directions from you? why cant they get directions off their phone?

They can and will be. However, the bridge has been under construction and sometimes closed.

The bridge has 1 lane open Northbound and starting Sunday the Southbound lane will go down to 1 lane.

most if not all gps applications for smartphones are notified for road closures and change routes based off that information

I take it your not a parent of a teenager. Sometimes parents like to know what their kids are doing and help them plan their trip in case the "GPS applications" might fail them.
