I'm looking at buying an Xbox One, but need to know a few things.

1) I don't have internet at the house, will that be a problem?

2) I know you have to install games onto the hard drive, do you have to be online to install?

3) What are some must have games for it?

Who doesn't have internet at their home these days? Especially someone dropping that much on a console?

But really, you don't need to be connected and purchase disc games(obviously).

Top games thus far being: DR3, Titanfall, Forza(if you're into racing). Though, I honestly don't think you could play TF without being online, so I'd strike that off your list.
In fact, I'd strike an XB1 off your list till there's more games or at least until you get the internet.

I know. I live in the middle of nowhere and can't get most home internet services. I had HughesNet but hated it.

Does this mean that I can buy, say, Fifa 14 and play it without the internet at all?

I haven't played FIFA so I can't say for sure, but as long as there is some sort of career mode/campaign to a game, you should be good(with titanfall being the one exception I can think of as even the 'campaign' pins you with and against other people).

Thanks so much.

My church group has Titanfall and it requires internet for everything. So I don't plan on buying it.

I bought mine in December and needed internet for initial setup. Was temporarily staying at a condo without internet so had to take it to a friend's house to get started. No issues after that in the condo with no connection.

I live in an extremely rural area. Got excede satellite internet and like it for the most part but online is not possible bc of lag. I suggest buying games that are open world like AC or watchdogs or sports games. Basically anything that's fun to offline. Don't buy battlefield or MW and plan on gaming online which you already seem to know

That's how I buy games. I've never played online. I typically play sports games or Halo/COD shooters.

You will never get any system upgrades or be able to use the system for what it is intended for. Your system will never improve from the day you buy it without Internet. That means no bug fixes, etc.

Does your church also produce post hardcore bands? Is it a metal church like the one Under oath came from?

Perhaps you can create a hotspot on your cellular phone for wifi to initially set up the xbox one.. then turn off your hotspot?

I can, but it's so slow that it won't load anything. I can take the
Xbox to my church or to work one weekend when no one is there.

The initial update isn't what I'm worried about, it's after that thst I can't have internet for it.
