Uber is basing their decision to come to BR on the level of interest they see in people wanting to be drivers. I think we all really want Uber to come here, so if you know anyone that might be interested, pass this link along:

The should make the age requirement lower and allow some college kids to make some extra cash

so how well do they check out the drivers? seems like an easy way for rapists to get chicks in their cars.

Probably raises their overhead on insurance more than the benefit they'd get.

I was told they do pretty extensive background checks. It's supposed to be a legit car service.

Drivers are reviewed by passengers, and I believe a background check occurs on hire. Regardless, being hired by a legit cab company does not ensure safety:

Yea they do.

You would have to be the world's dumbest rapist to use Uber. Unless you want your car to be tracked and everything single piece of info to be known about you.

Have it in Denver and love it. Last weekend 5 of us got hauled around in an Escalade. It included complimentary bottled waters. It is a little more expensive but worth every penny to me

and if you all have uber accounts you can split it up easily and it's probably cheaper than using a taxi van

Uber is awesome. Plain and simply

yep.

It's actually a good way to make some extra cash even if you're gainfully employed.

I know a few people who drive for uberx when they are bored just to have something to do and earn a little money.

Imagine being fed up with living somewhere, just move to a big city and be an uberx driver while looking for a job

the riff raff is kept away by a wonderful rating system where drivers actually rate passengers

you can literally be banned from using Uber if you have a bad passenger rating

Delgado and Heck are working together to get Uber into BR:

Daily Report

I might have to rethink my loathing of Delgado.

Damnit. I can't stand Delgado, he has been nothing but an arse and now he does something I support. Blind squirrel meet nut?

Anyway, credit where it is due, he is right on this one.

Yellow Cab is going to blow a gasket though.

Didn't we have this thread earlier, with Jones saying BR cabs are great?
