So with what is going on in Iraq now, will Obama and his ilk blame Bush???

They were quick to claim that Obama brought our troops home and ended the war in Iraq, even though it was already negotiated under Bush.

So does Obama blame Bush for setting the deadline to pull troops out, even though he took credit for it?

For the record, and before the Obama zombies start throwing out claims, I think Iraq was a HUGE mistake and I blame Bush/Cheney for it.

It's hard to blame Bush and Cheney when 77% of the Senate voted for authorization of war against Iraq in 2002.

77% of the Senate is comprised of 77 members, btw. The 77% also included 48 republicans and 29 democrats, 1 of which was Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Bush's fault for invading. If Saddam were still in power, Iraq would be peaceful*

* Peaceful meaning the same level of carnage but perpetrated by the government so it's OK.

So what would you do differently? Its easy to sit here and be an armchair quarterback. Bush screwed it up so badly that no matter who won presidency, they were set up to fail. Invading a country without an exit strategy or victory solution was irresponsible. I think pulling our troops out was the only solution! Do you want our troops to be there open ended and having more blood and money spent? I say let them kill each other. I have zero interest in what happens in Iraq. By the way, i served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in the initial invasion. What a fricked up situation. The ONLY person you can blame is Bush. I love how the Bush supporters blame Congress. Congress voted off of what president Bush and his "ilk" led them to believe. The Bush administraion is forever at fault for the war in Iraq.

So you do believe that a president is capable of lying his arse off to get his agenda swept through the Senate. Gotcha.

What about Hillary? Bill had access to the same intelligence. You really think she voted that way without consulting him?

And how did Bush trick congressional Democrats in the 1990s, when they called for regime change?

This happens all the time in politics. One guy makes a mess but then the next guy promises, if elected, to clean up the mess and right the wrong.

I'd say the second guy is just as guilty as the first if he doesn't deliver on his promise. Remember, he asked for the job to clean up the mess. Of course we all know that deflection of an unkept promise is so much easier to initiate than making good on one's promise.

Politics 101 - tell 'em what they want to hear.

You can't reason with cooks like this. Simple facts don't jive with their agenda.

We could stay in Iraq for twenty years and within two years of leaving it would degenerate into the chaos that we're seeing now. Best to cut our losses now and let them sink or swim. Bush I was smart enough not to even attempt nation building. Too bad W didn't inherit his daddy's brains.

I think attempts at nation building are pretty much a mistake every time they're tried. Hell. Even back when I supported going in to Iraq in the first place, I did NOT support sticking around for f'n 10 years trying to convince them to build an American style govt.

I don't think Obama is to blame for the Iraq situation. I think it was inevitable.

HOWEVER.

I absolutely think that it is fair to point out that the oeople of 6 years ago who kept telling us that electing Obama would somehow mean the world would love us and stop misbehaving were kumbaya idiots.

AND, I think it's fair to say that Obama tried to foster the view that somehow, thru his genius, the world would be a much better place.

Meanwhile, here we are......6 years later.........same world with same shite(perhaps even more shite). That's not Obama's fault but the asswipe did try to pretend his presence would fix it.

How would he have access to the "same" intelligence in 2003? The yellow cake claims were all stuff made up under Bush.

No kidding, huh? We were literally within feet of overthrowing Sadaam and he said "No way! I want no part of that nonsense!"

Overthrowing the Saddam regime wasn't the mistake. The mistake was disbanding the Iraqi army and government after the invasion. We should have helped them rebuild the country instead of trying to do it ourselves. That is Bush's fault.
