I never understood the huge complaint. Was it fast tracked that she got her powers back? Yes, but they don't have 20+ episodes a season in this series to burn them on filler. Not to mention as you stated this was supposed to be a one season deal in the beginning.

I don't see what you'd have to change that much in the plot. All you have to do is give Korra her powers back when she reconnects with Rava in the Wan flashback. Maybe have people think the Avatar isn't worth as much anymore with just airbending, maybe Tenzin saying that since she doesn't have the other elements that it would be ok for her to eventually get airbending tattoos, and when Korra is feeling the worst about herself, Unalaq comes in and tells her everything she wants to hear. It would still take the same number of episodes to tell that story, and Korra being a bitch would be more understandable.

I get all that, but season 1 was written before they had known about season 2. In hindsight they could have done all that, but they wrote it as a stand alone so that's why it was fast tracked.

I do like your take on how it could have gone, would have made things that much more dramatic in season 2. I don't know what Unaloq could have told her though being he wouldn't have been much help to her training wise. Also she wouldn't have been able to open up the portal when she did because she wouldn't have had her been a fully realized Avatar. That would have put huge dampers in Unaloq's plans to release Vaatu.

I find her reconnection less annoying than Aang's reconnection from getting pushed into a rock to reopen his chakras.

As a whole though, I do find myself becoming just as attached to this series as I did with the original. It's weird how it's picking up steam development wise but ratings wise it has declined.

I think it would be pretty simple. Unalaq would tell her that it's not the bending of the 4 elements that make the Avatar special, but the light spirit within the Avatar that makes her special. While Tenzin has failed to bring her into the Avatar State, Unalaq says that he knows a trip to the Spirit Portals will help trigger her Avatar State, and he is right, and she opens the portal.

Plus it would be nice in the end of the season when she loses Rava that Tenzin gives her the opposite advice as Unalaq did and says that she's the one that is special, not Rava.

At the end of the season she reunites with Raava.

Well yeah she does, but Tenzin tells Korra that she was special for who she was not what she was. I think Unalaq would give her the opposite philosophy.

Just from last week's episode, it seems that they're building it up.

Speaking of death somebody made a death count list. Can't link it but here it is

Chin the Conqueror- killed by Avatar Kyoshi
Avatar Roku- died during volcanic explosion
Air Nomads (ex. Avatar Aang)- genocide committed by Fire Nation
Fire Lord Auzlon- poisoned by Ursa under Ozai's orders
Kya (Sokka and Katara's mother)- killed by Yon Rha during Fire Nation raid
Lu Ten (Iroh's son)- killed by Earth Kingdom soldier
General Zaho- killed by Avatar Aang and Ocean Spirit
Numerous Fire Nation soldiers- killed by Avatar Aang and Ocean Spirit
Jet- killed by Long Feng
Avatar Aang- killed by Azula, however brought back to life by Katara with the spirit water
Combustion Man- killed by Sokka
Amon- killed by Tarrlok via murder-suicide
Tarrlok- committed suicide by boat explosion
Avatar Wan- died trying to restore peace during Harmonic Convergence
Unalaq- killed by Avatar Korra
Earth Queen Hou-Ting - suffocated by Zaheer using airbending to suck all air out of her body

So that's 14 separate deaths along with 1 genocide of an entire race

Not to mention the dozens of White Lotus guards and Aiwei that the Red Lotus killed.

If any of the leaked spoilers/theory are true it is certainly going to be a cliffhanger tomm.

He's getting beheaded or Jinora is going to watch him die?

I'd say Jinora will watch him die, as well as Korra. Tenzin will sacrifice himself to save Korra and his family. Would be great if Korra turned Jinora's head away from what was happening, and then the season ends in silence.

Just saw this on Reddit and how Zuko's look is basically a combination of Roku and Sozin:

Going to be tough for me to watch if true, cause I like Tenzen's character and all the interaction they show with him and his wild family. On the other hand, it will make for good drama in the show and a big cliff hanger going into season 4.

Just finished the finale and it was pretty damn intense. Although I don't see the part where it would bring a tear to anyone's eyes. No major good characters were killed although Korra's dad should have died. While every good character got off well besides Korra the villains not so much.

We got three new deaths to add to the list. Ghazan killed himself while trying to kill Bolin and Mako. He roasted himself, while Ming-Hua was electrocuted by Mako. The worst way to go though has to be Suyin encasing P'Li's head in metal right before she used her combustion bending. Talk about a self inflicted head shot.

Even though Korra made it out alive her mental state looks pretty bad. So she's going to be out of commission for a while. And it looks like we aren't done with the Red Lotus and there are plenty of cities that are being over thrown.

I'm guessing with Korra not being able to do much for a while the rest of the gang is going to do this by themselves. Also thinking Zaheer was not the top dog in the RL, there is probably somebody pulling the strings.

What I hope for Book 4.
The Fire Nation, we need to see it and also Zuko's daughter.
More Zuko
Stay with the dark type of writing like Book 3 had.
Toph needs to make an appearance too.

No way that chick that wanted to come with the main group isn't somehow connected. Korra is weak. The Red Lotus is bond to be after her now.

And the stakes with bending keep getting raised. Not sure how you can top this.

Also, Asami continues to be pretty window dressing. Shocked one guard when a dozen people in the room could've dropped him without it. If she could somehow turn into a super stealth expert or sommething, she'd at least have SOME utility. But she just...exists.

Yeah she's more than likely a Red Lotus spy, it's just too odd that a background character get's her own name, talks to two major characters, and also appeared in the newspaper earlier on.

Korra doesn't hold back during her Avatar State at all, I mean damn. She looked way more intense then Aang. But she did get her arse kicked by Zaheer. Although she was slowly dying during the fight so I'm sure that held her back.

Wonder how long Korra is going to be in that wheelchair. Kind of a bittersweet ending with Jinora becoming an Airbending Master and Korra looking terrible. Really thinking she believes that Zaheer is right, every world leader has hated her so far
