If Mike and Bryan do make another series I hope Netflix picks them up
I really think this would be a cult phenomena if this series was a Netflix original from the start. Instead, Nick just shits all over it and don't realize they have a universe on Star Wars scale of potential. Seriously, you could go on doing this franchise with new villains and new time periods forever, and Mike and Bryan could just hand off the torch to someone new once they've completed the cycle and we could go into the distant past.

I'd say make the next Avatar in the modern world
I feel like that the more you go in the future, the less relevant the Avatar will become in terms of world imporatnace. They have kind of hinted at it with Korra.
I agree with completing the cycle and with going back to Kyoshi and Roku, you already have character familarization. Roku might be a bit hard considering his storyline could be predicatble.

I'd say kind of lay off that theme if they were to do a modern Avatar, and more make it how the Avatar thinks he really is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things and is fine with it, but then a conflict comes along that only the Avatar himself can resolve, and he's not thrilled with the prospect of it like Aang was.
For Cyberpunk, definitely go with that angle. Would really like an imposing intelligence to be an Avatar villain who looks at humanity as inferiors and simply dumb creatures who need to be eradicated. Kind of thinking a mix between Ultron and Khan. I'd also have the Avatar killed in the Avatar State during the finale, but the death of the Avatar would also ensure the survival of humanity and the spirits as a whole.

Roku wouldn't work. We've already got his backstory, due to his relationship with Sozin. Sozin was the real threat of Roku's time, and really watching that show would be sad and infuriating because of it.
And I'm not sure how good Kyoshi would be as the main character. She's too much of an emotionless hard arse to really watch full seasons based on her.
We need to do Avatars we're not familiar with, and there's lots of potential for that. Maybe go into a more Midevil version of the Avatar universe. If there's an Avatar we're familiar with to do a series on, the answer is clearly Wan, since there are tons of unanswered questions on what happened in the aftermath of Wan's battle with Vaatu, although I'd imagine it to be a much darker series, since civilization would be on the verge of collapse. All we know is that Wan died on a field of fire in the aftermath of a violent battle, to where there are places to take his story.

so it's kind of staggering that at least someone wouldn't have invented a gun by this point in the universe.
This may be purposeful given the landscape of the gun debate currently.

If this show was on any other channel than nick it would blow up. Why does nick constantly hand cuff this series down, I will never understand.
Also, recap episodes are so useless we're in season 4 with over half of it aired 22 minute recap is useless. I understand they had to make lemonade out of lemons, I just can't stand recap episodes.

Would love a Cold War style series with the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom stockpiling on Spirit Super Weapons. And that leaves the Avatar to stop another major war

I think they want to keep all the weapons bending and spirit based. Even Varick ' s machines only use the elements.

A gun uses metal and fire. Don't know what that has to do with anything.

Recap episode was lame.

Can someone explain the Korrasami thing and how that got started? I just stumbled on it.

Korra and Asami having a relationship. It's a shipper thing.

Granted, the writers are doing nothing but encouraging it recently. Korra only writing to Asami. Korra blushing when she sees her again. Asami holding Korra's hand as they watch the sun set together:
There are clear lesbian vibes going on.

Mike and Brian are playing around with the viewers since it's a Nick show
But if it gets picked up by Netflix I can only think Korrasiami would be increased 10x

So this idea has been floating around in my head
Netflix buys the rights from Nick
Years after the discovery of the power of the Spirit Super Weapon the Earth Kingdom is put on sanctions by Republic City. With the threat of another army creating a super weapon, the Fire Nation starts to stockpile on weapons forcing the Earth Kingdom to compete.
Republic City condemns both the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom for creating more super weapons, but both ignore the warning. The Earth Kingdom takes seize of the Northern Water Tribe as to gain ground if the Fire Nation were to attack.
Likewise the Fire Nation takes over the Southern Water Tribe in fear of an Earth Kingdom attack. Now Republic City has become obsolete and the Avatar must keep these two super nations from going into direct war with each other.
So it's the Cold War Avatar style

When does this show come on? I always watch the episodes online and it makes me feel like a shitty fan because I'm not supporting the show
Posted on 11/23/14 at 5:13 pm to prince of fools
It's only available online now. Nick doesn't show it anymore.
Posted on 11/23/14 at 5:15 pm to PsychTiger
they don't show new episodes but they still play the old avatar series? That doesn't make sense.
Posted on 11/23/14 at 5:22 pm to prince of fools
OML can explain the reasons for you better than I could. They may be stated earlier in this thread.
Posted on 11/24/14 at 11:35 am to OMLandshark
For instance, the power plants are powered by fire benders bending lightning. The train system (until Varrick came up with the magnetism) are moved using earth bending. They seem to try and keep the science of the Avatar universe based off of bending in many instances. Some things are moving away from it as of late though.

Nickelodeon has announced the return of The Legend of Korra to television, via the show’s Facebook page. Nick posted a spot for the television premiere of Book Four: Balance, set to air on Nicktoons.
This is a surprising move from Nickelodeon, who pulled the series from the air during Book Three: Change, and has been releasing episodes via Nick.com and the Nick app ever since. The network also slashed the series’ budget, forcing showrunners to choose between firing staff or reducing one Book Four episode to a clip show. The most recent episode to be released online show that the chose the latter.
The television airings will begin with Book Four premiere. Following comments voicing concerns about scheduling, Nick updated the post to say that new episodes will continue to be uploading to the Nick app on Fridays.
The Legend of Korra Book Four: Balance will make its television premiere at 9 p.m. ET.
