Craigslist

You'll pay half the price.

If you don't mind spending 75 bucks an hour then just call one of the local BR companies. Most will also charge a minimum amount of hours or total cost.

Thank you Brgetthenet!

U-Haul is a No.
Friends as helpers is a No because if someone is injured we are responsible. Yes, my husband is a lawyer.

If you're older and gainfully employed, who the hell asks their friends to help them move?

I'm 30 and I'm never moving myself again, much less helping other people.

Maybe her husband is just being cautious.

I know I'd sue your arse off if you slipped in my house and broke my lamp.

I'm a lawyer with lawyer friends, and this would be of zero concern to me.

What the hell is wrong with him/them?

Too bad you can't move some stuff yourself. My SUV for my intown move made things a lot easier.

The normal American male moves his own stuff, usually with a couple good friends. He always returns the favor to those who help him. Unless you have enough furniture to fill a 9,000+ sqft home move your own shite. You husband must have no friends, they grew tired of the pansy.

Get a local New Orleans company and pay them extra for the travel time and mileage. Don't get a long-distance mover.
