PFT called it minor pectoral surgery. A torn pectoral would put him out all IR i would think.

Yeah, Terrell says in the article the surgery is for a torn muscle. Let's hope it's not bad.

My only fear is that there has seemed to be a lot of cases under the Payton regime where they say that somebody has a minor injury and then they're on IR 48 hours later.

Depends on how many strands are torn, and many times it's hard to gauge the impact until he starts to rehab the injury. I guess this puts Bunkley out of the picture for a tender to gain extra cap space.

Hopefully just another case of TP writers hearing something and embellishing on it. If it is what NFL.com reported, it was minor surgery and they did not use the words "torn pectoral muscle."

Well a "torn pectoral" can mean a minor tear or the entire muscle is severed. If they say back by training camp, I would say it was probably a minor injury that was causing some pain and they elected to shore it up prior to the start of season. Either way we won't find anything out until we see him in uniform or he's on IR.

That's what I'm saying. Before this I was kind of hoping they would cut him to free up extra money to deal with Jimmy. But I agree totally, glad I'm not in charge for that crucifixion.
