used to just vote democrat because the students they went to college with supported that. A while back some college neighbors invited us to a party they had and asked that we bring out boat to bring them out boating. There were probably 10-15 adult neighbors invited. During the course of the day politics came up. It gave the adults a great chance to explain the lawlessness and the real policies of Obama and all the leftist media.

By the time we were done arguing and presenting facts about 25-30 of the students thanked us for the education and now will tune out the MSM and not treat what they say as gospel.

Since that party I have recieved 22 emails from the students who say the supported Jolley at the polls over Sink. And I would have to say that made a difference because the election was super close. And they also stated that on campus they have started spreading the message althought they stated they have been met with resistance from the low info voters.

I know TLDR but my wife and I try to just state both sides positions and it seems once they see the truth they make the "right" decision.

Just think if all the good republicans on here could just convert 50 and then 50 could convert others it will matter, especially in a very comptetive swing state like Florida.

When I stated 50 there have been other occasions to add to the 25 we converted at the party.

I tried to convert UAW but it's useless. All of his GM cars have been recalled but he still says they are the best cars in the world. He will always vote Dem because 'they are for the working man.'

I can see why, when you see real people who understand real folks with real problems; I can understand how good ole hard working real folks like Nancy Pelosi, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama can do more for the people with real jobs than a guy like Mitt Romney who actually had a real job.

I always try to show people how both parties suck and that they should vote 3rd party. IF you want a movement, then that's the movement we need.

Establishment R's are just the lesser of 2 evils. Do you vote for Hitler or Stalin?

By telling these kids of the "lawlessness" of Obama and the "leftist media" you are NOT stating both "sides," you are pushing your own Opinion/Agenda . Just so you know.

I probably lean more toward tea party although not as extreme. I am for smaller govt and personal responsibility. But when it boils down to voting I reluctantly have to support an establishment republican over the evil we have in the White House right now.

That was a very close election. Sink is a state level carpetbagger who had no business running for that seat. She was anointed electable by the Florida Democrats led mostly by trial attorney John Morgan. He is doing the same thing with Charlie Crist.

Chicagotiger I actually do present both sides. When I asked them what they like about Obama and his agenda they couldnt really answer because they didnt know. I basically explained his agenda vs the establishment agenda vs the tea party agenda. Most seem to lean toward the middle or middle right after the conversation

you are exactly right. Worked out well because that is the district we all lived in. I am sure I didnt make too much a difference but even 25-30 votes helped and if they spread the word maybe others joined them. From the emails half of them said they didnt vote much in the past but would for sure in the future

Your post tells me that people can be convinced to vote R by goofy sayings and anecdotes.

Did they vow to not take what the right wing media says as gospel as well? Somehow I doubt it.

When I'm around someone who is hyper partisan and intent on telling me their views, I just nod my head in agreement until either the subject changes or I can make a polite exit. Probably a lot of that happened in this case.

Nothing in this life is more tiresome than a motivated ideologue.
