Black cats
Ladders
Umbrellas
Mirrors
13

I am conscious of all these on a daily basis

What kind of fool would walk under a ladder, open an umbrella inside, break a mirror or cross the path of a black cat but I never understood the thing with 13.

Very superstitious, writings on the wall,
Very superstitious, ladders bout' to fall,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past

When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way

Very superstitious, wash your face and hands,
Rid me of the problem, do all that you can,
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin' strong,
You don't wanna save me, sad is my song

When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way, yeh, yeh

Very superstitious, nothin' more to say,
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass,
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past

When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer, Superstition ain't the way, no, no, no

Went outside the stadium last night when something bad happened, and went back in when something bad happened while outside.

Not at all. I think it's bad luck to be superstitious.

I used to be until I had a job that required me to constantly walk under ladders... Eventually I just said screw it.

Numbers frick with me. I hate odd numbers. Radio has to be on an even number.

Not at all. Then I'm not a supernatural kind of guy, so there's no reason I would think that there would be some issue with black cats, or the underside of ladders or cracks in the pavement, or broken mirrors, the number 13, or any of a host of stuff like that.

When I was playing ball I leaned towards being a little OCD about certain gameday things, but nothing I'd call a superstition.

I was OCD about this stuff when I was little, but I'm much better now.
Bad superstitions I'm aware of: stepping on cracks, breaking a mirror, walking under a ladder, black cat crossing your path, opening an umbrella indoors, lighting three things on the same match, & the number 13.

Good superstitions I'm aware of: finding a four leaf clover, catching a falling leaf, rabbits feet, horse shoes, & finding a penny.

Superstitions are largely cultural. Some Chinese think the number 4 is unlucky. Some Germans think killing spiders is unlucky.

I'm Irish, if that helps.

Yet another reason for me not to like Germans...I'm allergic to spiders.
