I am looking into the Wisconsin folk now and I know from seasons gone past they love to pound the rock.

The 1st game of the season will be about running the football and stopping the run. Football 101

I think we play man to man lock down and cheat heavy on stopping the run trying to force Wisconsin into a passing game.

If LSU gains anytime of lead I hope to see turn over city break out allowing LSU to put the game away.

I would love to see a 14 point lead in the 4th with LSU pounding the rock.

Will be a perfect early season test to help us gauge how improved our run D is. Will be critical to this season's success.

Will be a huge game - Les has a crazy non-SEC record and that will be on the line 1st game against Wisconsin.

We win this game we then play the sisters of the poor until The Barn at the Barn.

The opening game will be huge with such a young team. If we can run the ball we win - they slow our running game it could be tight at the end.

I am looking for about 70% run in the game and all the backs get touches. I am saying LF7 will start but I could be wrong about that. I will say right now that LF7 gets 100 yards in his first game start or not !

Big, tough grid it out, experienced team against a young, fast, athletic team. This opponent is almost the opposite of Oregon a few years ago. The difference could be Cameron & his plan to bring his young skill players along. If the staff prepares the Tigers at the level that they were at for Oregon, it should be a win with out depth.

This game only looks good on paper. LSU should win comfortably.

The score of Wisconsin's spring game was 6-0. Keep in mind the Badgers are replacing their entire front seven on defense this year. And yet the offense was easily held in check by the defense.

The strength of a Badger team is usually the OL. This year's Badger OL is very thin. They had two of their best OL held out of the spring game with significant injuries, and the remainder were pushed around by the new defensive replacements with ease.

Wisconsin is counting on the arrival of several freshman recruits to step up at WR and OL, none of whom is more than a three star recruit.

While LSU might be counting on freshman to contribute as well, the recruits the Tigers are looking to are some of the nation's most highly recruited players...Leonard Fournette, Malachi Dupre, Trey Quinn, Clifton Garrett, and Brandon Harris.

LSU will win comfortably in this game.

Well,

I have thought that from time to time but the first game for our new QB might be a little simple in the game plan. But I am seeing a huge rushing game for LSU and I know BH can flinge the deep ball. Adds up for some Geaux Tigers football fun.

If we get this one in the bag it sets up for some fun getting the young team ready for Auburn !

The D will break out that 3-2-6 / 3-1-7 package that gives all the spread teams fits.

Love me some Lsu summer talk about the best college football team in the USA

This game looks good on the paper published by the New York Times, which in three weeks will be less than three miles from the B1G footprint. B1G schools will continue to get much love from the media in September, when the entire conference plays exclusively out-of-conference games as usual, and when 11 of their teams are 4-0 with 60% of their wins coming at the expense of the MAC, the media will be lost for words, as usual, when conference play levels it out and they go 3-8 in bowls.

I Agree, But to run the ball effectively, we must be able pass the ball!! If they're putting 8 or 9 in the box and we must not let them dictate the game ...
We gotta spread them out with 3 WR sets with split RB's make them cover speed and stop us Running the ball with there front 4 ..

I'm afraid Les will allow this 8 in the box, and play 2 TE and 1 Wr. (Big10 football) And not spread the field with better athletes. Les is Hard Headed and stubborn, that's what scares me...

I'm looking forward to it because it will be a very solid test for our young team. It will also be a hard hitting, old school style game. I expect chin straps to be on tight and the pads to be popping. Even with our inexperience, I expect a tight game through 3 quarters then for us to pull away in the 4th. I know Wisky has a great RB, but we have a stable of them and 4 returning starters on the line. Hoping to pound them into submission like we have been doing to folks late in games.

The scares of that last game of the 2011 season

get over it!

Cam is the man an Les has respect for Cam allowing Cam to be the man on the O side.
I think the TE play alone will shock guys like you in this game. I am not saying we won't run into the 8 in a box at times but I think we make all teams pay for cheating up this year.

You don't think our personnel for next year lends itself to a power running game? I, for one, want to run the shite out of the ball next year.

And, after last year, how can anyone in their right mind take issue with something on offense? Really hard to find something to bitch about there. We're replacing a lot and will tailor the offense as such, but I don't see how one can complain about our approach or general gameplan. If anything, a gripe would be that we were too aggressive at times and didn't rely enough on pounding it (see: Ole Miss).
