does anyone believe pete carroll about why he left usc?

seems like he's just now addressing the issue because most people's memory of the situation is fading
he's now saying had he known usc was getting sanctioned, he would have stayed. but that doesnt flow with the timeline back when it happened.
usc was under investigation for 5 years for all sorts of cheating. words gets out in the weeks before carroll taking seattle's job that ncaa was wrapping up investigation and sanctions were going to be big. and he bolts.
now he's talking he was clueless. i dont buy it nor do the facts align.

Obviously he's a great coach but he's definitely full of shite. I know Seatle fans will come in here and say I'm a butthurt Saints fan but that really is my honest opinion.

Honestly that line of thinking meshes well with the story.
Didn't the NCAA say that he/USC should have known about Bush and others getting free stuff?
Maybe he was so oblivious to everything that not only he didn't know about bush getting improper benefits, but he also didn't know about the NCAA investigating the program.

Nope, I agree with you. He's not a dumb guy. He knew what was going to happen, so he bailed. The Seahawks made it easy with an awesome offer though.
I don't think anybody would ever expect him to say that he left because he knew USC was going to get hammered.
