Another testament to the greatness that is Lebron James...

quote:

Sources told Stein that part of Cleveland's motivation to chase Calipari for its job was the belief that hiring Calipari -- who is well known to be a good friend of LeBron James -- would greatly enhance their chances of convincing the NBA's best player to return to his home state in free agency this summer.

Kentucky on Thursday announced that Calipari has been signed to a new seven-year deal worth $52.5 million guaranteed.

Sources told ESPN's Andy Katz also that Kentucky's new deal with Calipari actually was completed in April, and that the Cavs' proposal was made within the past two weeks.

Doesn't matter what he actually does. Gilbert offered Cal $80 million (!!) based on the slight chance that Cal could entice Lebron to return. Lebron is making other dudes rich (er) simply because they might be able to convince him of something.

Only way Lebron goes back is if Gilbert sells the team.

Which he should do since the Clippers just sold for $2 billion.

It also helps that he has ties to a ton of guys in the league now.

He's really dumb to turn it down imo. Salaries for coaches are fully guaranteed right?

You could theoretically have a starting lineup of:

Irving
Waiters
James
Thompson
Embiid

The Gilbert groveling over the summer to get Lebron back is going to be amazing. Especially for Lebron.

I have no clue what he could possibly be planning to say after what went on in 2010.

Gonna be even more entertaining to read reports of his begging before he ultimately gets told to frick off...again.

Have you seen his new contract at Kentucky?

Plus he is probably about to be able to keep his players for 2 years.
