no, it won awards for its suckage

Excellent acting.
The movie drives home the point that slavery was bad and seems to be aimed at those that were still on the fence about the issue.

It's fantastic. Superbly directed and acted. Definitely worth a watch.

I wasn't aware I posted this on the ot. Just because it won awards doesn't mean it's great. This movie in particular, if it didn't win awards then some people would consider it racist.

it was good. Never read the story but I heard it stays true to form.
Dont think your going to come away feeling good about anything. especially when.....
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
when you see that he may have been kidnapped again, after first being freed.

Please take spoilers out. I scrolled over it but doubt I'll be able to do it again. I don't have very good self control.

it was ok. movie did a bad job telling you how long it had been since being captured in certain points. i didn't know if it was 3 years in, 7 years in, 10 years in, etc.

i don't hate it or anything, but I didn't exactly enjoy it. You might find yourself saying okay it will get better as it goes along, but to me it never really did. Watch it though, you may enjoy the acting.

acting is good.
The leading guy should get more legit jobs. I cant remember his name tho. haha.
I thought Fassbenders character was overplayed a bit.

Suffered from a lack of Sofia Vergara.
As most movies do.

At least you knew it hadn't been more than 12 years, right?

Am I mistaken, or were many of the scenes shot in Baton Rouge at the Rural Life Museum?

Does the story take place in Louisiana?
