I was wondering what are the current Sunday night or late night places to go in NOLA for drinks? Looking for something nice to very nice to take a date next week. We are both off on Monday. I don't usually hang out late on a Sunday.
Age would be 30's.

what are you looking to do?

do you just want a nice place for the date, or does it have to be 'hoping'?

Bacchanal fits New Orleans to a T. It's laid back, casual, unique - with good food and live music. That's what comes to mind when I think of a REAL New Orleans restaurant. You walk in directly into a wine cellar where you can either choose a bottle of wine or order by the glass from a menu. You can also choose an assortment of cheeses for a cheese plate - I haven't done this yet, but this is something I plan to do on my next visit. Then you go outside (or upstairs - outside is better) and grab a table and when you're ready to order, you go up to the window and place your order.

They only take cash but there is an ATM right by the order window.

Everything I've had here has been good. I've tried the braised butternut squash (not a huge fan of squash but this was fabulous), the seared scallops, the grilled whole branzino, the braised pork shoulder and the flat iron steak. I've been twice - the first time I got the braised pork shoulder for myself. The second time I shared the other items with my parents and it was plenty. There's live music every night and the ambiance of this place is just so great. It's the kind of place I want to take people from out of town to when they are in town visiting.

I went to Tommy's a few Sundays ago. It was dead. I had a excellent time with my date, but we were two of 10 people in there. I have been to Tommy's quite a few times. It is a great place. Love it.
I am really looking for something hopping this time.
