Lafayette has a very underserved market for small boutique style women's clothing stores. If she can sell products that appeal to both ULL coeds and oil field wives, she will be very very successful.

Lafayette

Plenty of wealth.
Emerging.
Lower catastrophic hurricane risk.
Probably lower lease rates.

You will have trouble with that in Lafayette . You're market is very small , New Orleans has tourists who will eat that up

As far as "good taste" and women wanting to make themselves look great, Lafayette is far and away the winner.
