Around midtown area but anywhere within reasonable driving distance from downtown. It's for a birthday. TIA

I'm at the pass and provisions. The pass is a great dining experience. Provisions is more laid back and solid too.

for me you cant beat the original Ninfas on navigation, less than 5 minutes from downtown

its in mama ninfas old house and has a great atmosphere and patio and the strongest margaritas around

everythings homemade and it has nothing to do with the shitstain other chain Ninfas(corporate spinoff)

Depends on what kind of food and what kind of atmosphere you are looking for. There are tons of restaurants in Houston especially in the midtown area.

A good midtown suggestion for Mexican would by Cyclone Anaya's. Pretty good atmosphere and really good food.

I disagree. Ate there once and really did not enjoy it at all. I would much rather go to El Tiempo or many other places before I go back there.

That doesn't mean much. There are two that I know of in Houston (City Center and Midtown) and both of them are balls to the walls the majority of the time.

What kind of food do you like?

Houston has a billion restaurants.

Ever tried Polish food? It's awesome.

There's this place on Blalock called Polonia- doesnt look like much from the outside, but it's nice on the inside and the food is great- get the big sampler for 2- it has everything.
