Gyroscope technology helps? keep the Jyrobike upright so kids don't need those silly training wheels.

Pretty cool, but part of growing up is the threat of dying from wiping out on your bike

this still allows that, you can gradually adjust the gyro effect. It allows the kids to skip training wheels and would make learning to ride a bike much easier and they don't have to go through the traumatic stage of losing that security blanket aka the training wheels.
I'm trying to teach a 6yo to give them up right now.

My son never used training wheels. He saw the older kids without them and wanted to be just like them. When he was 6 I held his seat for like 5 seconds the first time he took off and he never needed help again. On his 8th birthday I gave him a pogo stick and 2 hours later he was bouncing on it with no hands.
Never really thought about it before but now it seems odd to me that he almost never trips or falls like other kids. Guess he's just got a great sense of balance.

I highly recommend those Strider balance bikes for toddlers... my son went straight from that to a peddle bike the day he turned 3 and so did my neighbor's at the same age.
