I don't believe Marshall will sign. He seems pretty dead set on going to LSU. Will be interesting to see what kind of offer Jeff makes him.
And springer & singleton back to back in the lineup!

He was dead set on LSU after he wasn't drafted on day 1. He wanted first round money and when he didn't get drafted on day 1 he assumed he wasn't going to get that. The Astros could potentially give him that money.

As an Astros fan, it would be cool to sign him. On the other hand, as an LSU fan, LSU needs this kid more so hopefully my Astros don't give him a large contract.

Yall can draft Marshall again in 3 years, and I'm sure it'll be within the first ten picks. Be patient, we'll let Dunn develop him for you.

Astros probably won't have a top 10 pick in three years.
The fact most think he will be a top 10 pick down the road is more of a reason to throw cash at him.

Your organization is following the Rays business model of stacking many years of top 5 picks, building up the farm, Yada yada, you prolly know all this. That said, you're prolly still there in 3 years, but not 5. Like I said, patience.

I said this yesterday....
Clemens demoted again. Rudy Owens called up.
quote:
Listening to the radio....
1) Clemens is awful and I still don't understand why he keeps getting recalled.
2). They said Strom and Clemens may have gotten into it between innings. When Strom visited the mound, you can tell he was telling Clemens basically to get his head out of his arse.
3) With him getting into it with coaches....Maybe they're letting him struggle enough so he can drive his own nail into his own coffin. DFA and bring up Buchanan, Nitro, or Folty.

Good.
Unfortunately it looks like we are gonna have to give Owens a full tryout before we can move on to Folty, Trop and Buchanan

I tell you what.
There is no way we could play worse today than we did yesterday.
Yesterday was a comedy of errors.

Agreed. They, at one point, had 5 runs with 1 hit

Wow. Fowler's OBP in the last 27 games is .479.

Corp with an RBI single. Knocks in Grossman. 1-0 good guys in the top of the 2nd
Edit: McHugh with 4 consecutive K's going into the 3rd inning. He is dealing again

McHugh, AKA Jabroni, through 3:
1H, 1BB, 0R, 6 K's
He kinda labored through that 3rd with both the hit & walk coming in that inning. Minn had two on base when McHugh got the K for the third out.
Edit: Stros with bases loaded and 0 outs in the top of the 4th (2BB, 1 HBP). Twins turning to their bullpen

If Jabroni keeps pitching this well, we'll have to strip him of his Jabroni nickname.
Bases loaded nobody out for Villar!

Villar with a single. 1 run scores, bases still loaded with 0 outs!
