sdomewhere i got a p[olaroid of hollywood signing some old mans saints helmet at a training camp.
joe talked with this old dude for at least 15 minutes and seemed genujinely interested in the conversation. they were talking about their experiences working in fried chicken places.
theres dsome evidence that he was as a assholle as a football player but as a person he seems like a really good guy. i also seem to remember him doing the most during katrina? maybe?

Who cares about him being an A in football. Theres a lot of assholes in football and you almost have to be one anyways.

Exactly. I'm an a-hole at my job, too. Most of the time I have to be. People at highest level of their trade have are competitive, cutthroat and do what it takes to perform at that level.

But away from work I'm sure Joe Horn, like many other folks, lets his guard down and allows his true self to come out.

I met him years ago. Right after the 06 season if I remember. Really cool dude.

I spoke to him on the phone once.

I was like, "dude, get back to the game."

Came into the Applebee's I used to work at years ago. We had a special item not on the menu just for him (100 of their wings, he loves Applebee's wings). Anyway I had asked him for an autograph at one point of the night but had to go tend to my other tables. Before he left, he actually came and tracked me down to sign something for me. Cool arse man right there.

Well, just so I don't feel left out, I met the guy in the Club at a Pelicans (then Hornets) game. Unbelievably friendly and down to earth.

Wow. I saw the exact opposite. At Saints camp he said he'd sign for anyone with an 87 on. Literally would not sign for anyone else. Even refused little kids that weren't wearing a Horn jersey. Maybe he was in a mood that day but he sure was a dick

I was never a fan of the way he left New Orleans either

I showed up 3 hours early for a Saints training camp once, probably 13-14 years old at the time. Was the only guy at the gate and Joe drove by and stopped to hand me a football and signed it for waiting. I know CSB.

Uh, I didn't say anything about where he went. But now that you mention it, I do remember him saying something about "I'll just go ask Arthur Blank for a job" or something to that affect. Basically "screw the Saints, I'll go to Atlanta and show them". Didn't really work out for him

He acted like a whiny little bitch on his way out the door b/c he got replaced as the #1 WR.

When I met him I asked him about going to Atlanta and he told me it was strictly a business decision, that he felt like he retired the year he left the Saints. Said Atlanta was just a paycheck.

P.S. I got him to take a picture with me holding a sign that said he was calling me after the touchdown.

I love how fans think they know how players should approach their profession, contracts and compensation.

Played 18 holes of golf with Joe Horn. The guy is a class act. He is super competitive. Took pictures with me and my 2 girls and signed all the crap we had.
