None of them have axles, so they aren't trashy.

Look at the price, well above any $/sqft of the BR metro area.

Maybe when they make a french country container the slack jaw BR people will flock to it.

Seems like they are actually thinking outside of the box, by their own means, rather than the way this government is trying to make them.

Our government wants people to rely on them, and hates those who can support themselves. This is the opposite of trashy. This is sticking it to the man.

Badass. I would live in it.

People put them underground in tornado prone areas as well and make them into badass bunkers.

Cool camp.

House? Nah.

And note that I included St. George in my patented White Trash-o-meter.

Obviously you rank them on that side of the spectrum.

That said:

I actually priced some of these a while back when we were contemplating prefab housing. Was 175-200/sqft without land. Settled on blue sky homes, but alas life has changed those plans.

Right.....

I figured including an affluent community on a white trash scale was clearly synonymous with "Not trashy"

I didn't realize it was rocket science....

this - why throw St. George or the LP under the bus - I live in 70817 and believe me "der ain't no homes with wheels". I believe trashy is a phallic symbol for some posters.

On a scale from St. George to Livingston Parish?

Off the scale. Neither would do anything remotely that "out of the box".

There's a new bar in Austin called container bar which has four or five of these connected to each other as a lounge area...pretty cool.
