Beautiful place, but outside of Fernandina Beach, there isn't much. You have to take a ferry to to Jacksonville Beaches, but you are about 40 minutes from Jacksonville (which sucks anyway).

Fernandina is a cool little town though, but it is little. There's good kayaking and flats fishing in the area.

I mean I don't know what you like to do or how much time ya got outside of work but the pool is great, 4 great golf courses right there, deep sea and off shore fishing obviously, beach at the ritz is nice for an Atlantic beach, and a few swamps right there we waded through

all family based though

was my family's summer vacation spot for many years. awesome place. we had a place by the big pier. The surf, across from the Amelia by the Seas condos, is a local legend, but one could probably find better food in the downtown area. The downtown itself is a cool, quaint place with a lot of little beach shops and restaurants/bars. St. Augustine isn't too far of a drive if you want more tourists attractions or if you're into history. Overall, its a very cool place and you'll have a hard time not enjoying it.

I agree with tiger in NY. Amelia island is beautiful and fernidina beach is pretty cool also. Nice restaurants and shopping along the main drag in FB.

We stayed there for a couple of nights two years ago in the Marriot Residence Inn. It had connected hiking trails which I took off on a hot night at sunset. There was a small pond behind a chain link fence, and as I was looking at a floating log, it started to move- it was a gator. Ran back to the hotel and banged on our window and mouthed the words "gator" to my kids. They ran out as fast as can be and got to see their first live alligator- in fact likely still the only one they have seen. I know, CSB for most on this board, but pretty exciting for some Minnesota kids.

The beach was good. And they do sell booze on Sunday. Not far from Savannah or South Carolina.
