Good luck. I've been here the past 5 days. Not fishing today because I didn't want to deal with the crowd.

How has the trout bite been? Haven't heard very many good reports for this time of the year.

My buddy has been limiting on live shrimp in the lake all week
It's been a slow year though
I rather bass fish if it's slow.
Can't figure out where the trout are this year.

It's spotty but big lake hasn't been what it used to be in a couple years.

If they are please let me know. Will likely determine my plans for next weekend.

I will...

But he's right. This has been the worst year for trout in the last several years by far.
Hopefully the freeze just delayed them.
By next December if we don't hit trout north, I will make very few trips there...

I think the freeze hurt the shrimp and that's the problem...

When shrimp return so should the trout..

On the way back. Kept 18 trout, 20 reds, 17 sheepshead, 7 gafftops.

All on live shrimp.

We caught around 200 fish total.

Used 5 quarts of shrimp .

Very fun trip.......

Damn

One of the advantages to Big Lake over the Northshore was you didn't need live bait.

Guess the trends followed me here.

More likely the ACE and the dredging cut off some of the marsh access for the shrimp.
