Maybe I need to recalibrate my race-meter because I don't see what is so racist about that comment

I didn't see anything racist about that. In fact, he was speaking of nationality, not race.

That would be exactly 70 bills more than Obama authored as a state legislator in Illinois. Don't recall Charlie being concerned about barry having little else to hang his hat on in 2008 except the obvious.

"I hope somewhere during this debate, ... [Espaillat] tries to share what the heck has he done besides saying he's a Dominican?" Rangel said.
Calling someone a 'Dominican' is considered racist now?

Good Lord. The guy is from the Dominican Republic, no? Am I racist if I call someone from the United States of America, an American?

It's a fair question of any candidate who makes their race a large part of their campaign, but obviously sounds ridiculous coming from a man whose race was no doubt a factor in his own election. We're obviously not allowed to ask racial questions though, and have been conditioned to be shocked by it.

You're right. If the other guy had said of Rangel, "tries to share what the heck has he done besides saying he's black," I can't deny that some people would have gotten upset.

Remember now, we're living in a time when "binders full of women" is considered offensive. You idiots on the Left created the phony, agenda-driven concept of Political Correctness, so you can't suddenly act like you have common sense when one of your boys doesn't tow the mark.

But it matters not.

Charlie Rangel is a Knee-Grow. Knee-Grow's are bulletproof.

Unless they insult gay people. Gay peeps have replaced Knee-Grows as the preeminent superstars of the PC movement.

That was stupid too.

It's interesting that you automatically assume anyone who isn't offended by Rangel's comment is a liberal.

You totally missed my point, LA. I wasn't bothered by Rangel's comment, either.

My comments were aimed at the hypocrites who would act like Rand Paul's joke was out of line, and then turn around and defend Rangel.

That's hypocritical, and that was my point.
