300: Rise of the Empire

I was expecting this to be terrible. It was pretty good. Fight scenes were bad arse. Clearly King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) was missed, but I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did. Favorite line:

I checked it out Thurs night. I had skipped over it for fear it would suck balls but I was surprised myself. Would recommend to all who liked the first one.

Very bad movie and not bad as in good.

I thought it was better than the first one. Much more developed story.

It clearly was made for the visual junkies, absolutely stunning scenes but it's nothing outrageous when it comes to being a "good movie"
I'd watch it again but only on a nice TV with a great sound system

I loled hard at this as well. Even though I thought the plot was stupid, and I did miss Gerard Butler in it, it was still really entertaining and overall wasn't too bad a movie.

Just watched it this afternoon after I got in from work. It entertained me for a couple of hours. I think I'll always look fondly on the first one because I was an impressionable high schooler and, let's face it, it was pretty fricking kick arse in the most over dramatic way possible. It took me a while to adjust to the overuse of slow-mo and cgi'd blood, but once I did I was fine. Wouldn't buy it but wouldn't dissuade anyone from checking it out if they wanted to to either.

300 is my favorite movie. Bloody, serious, visually interesting, and I like the subject matter. It never sunk into camp and wasted little time on love stories that no one cares about (lookin at you, Michael Bay). I know I'll be scorned here but the way I felt seeing it the first time is how my dad describes seeing Star Wars the first time.
The sequel was good enough but was never going to match the first one.

Eva Green was hot.
I liked how he made sure that he got laid before turning down her offer.
