Taking the wife out on our first date since our son was born. Where can I get a good steak either in Metairie or NOLA? Obviously we need somewhere that either will have a res available this late, or where we don't need one.

La Boca as others have mentioned is the answer. If you are trying to get a reservation for tonight. Good luck.

However, Ive found that Galatoire's has some pretty incredible steaks (that few people order as the house trade is slabs of fish). Not Galatoire's 33 Steak, but the actual restaurant. And a party of two can usually slip in pretty easily on a Friday night downstairs, of course.

La Boca is tops

if you aren't able to get in there consider Chophouse, Desi Vega's or Emeril's Delmonico

Peeked @ their menu last week after leaving Sylvain across the street. Looked interesting. I'm not really that into steakhouses but I'm open to a place if they can do some other interesting things with the menu. What did you get there?

I haven't been there as I rarely go to steakhouses in NO, but my brother eats there regularly and praises it.

Wow Mr Johns not getting much love.. Imo its the Best traditional steakhouse in city that's always consistent. Been to la boca twice.. First time was pretty good, second time sucked.. Haven't tried Doris metro yet. Other good options as ppl have mentioned are Ruth Chris, crescent city steaks, emerils delmonico

That's not very nice. I was going to tell you I have a hop stoopid in my fridge that needs to be consumed immediately, and that you should go grab it, but now I'm not going to tell you that.

Hit up Desi Vega's. I went for the first time on Wednesday and everything was top notch.

Nice. I'm partial to the carpaccio and the delmonico cajun style or the ny strip. Solid wine list over there too.
