Guitar lessons in BR...

Any recommendations?
I guess I'm intermediate player (or was) but I haven't picked up the guitar in a few years. More into blues, rock and starting to get into Johnny Cash.
I was quoted $100 for 4 thirty I minutes sessions by Zeaglers.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Are you looking to write your own songs? If not and you consider yourself intermediate, lessons are a waste of money. I taught myself how to play. I can't fingerpick well, but handle chord progressions just fine. You can pretty much learn through online videos anything someone can show you in person. My roommate and I both play and he got lessons for nearly a year recently. We both can play the same things, only thing is that he can speak guitar and tell you what you're doing in technical terms. I rather be ignorant and save my money.

Doesn't that anti-St. George, I'm-a-40-year-old-and-I-still-dress-like-I'm-18-and-in-a-band, doucher teach guitar in BR?

Eddie Van Halen...but he is in L.A., not LA.

This like a mofo. If I had it when I first started playing (Stan at Zeagler's only charged $30 per hour back then) I would never have bothered taking lessons.
Google blues riffs, blues runs, techniques...all in video...check out Ultimate Guitar dot com, too.
Free lessons all over the net. Screw lessons.
Tab Pro app (for both platforms) kicks arse for any song you want to learn. In fact, it's the only $ I'd spend at all on lessons.

The folks telling you to not pay for lessons are correct.
This is all you need:

Teaches you chords, how to practice the chords, then songs to play with those chords. Fantastic site. Give it a shot.

I'm self-taught too and I write and play my own songs.* I don't necessarily agree with your idea that taking lessons is the way to go if you want to write your own material. On the other hand, taking lessons would probably make me a better player than the ordinary strummer I am.
*Trust me, you don't want to hear me singing Stairway to Heaven. I have a few obscure covers in my songbook, but 95% of my material is my own stuff.

I'm familiar with all the basic chords and I'm not bad at chord progression, just want some guidance on soloing and playing more complicated chords.

This guy named Zakkary Wylde gives guitar lessons. Just ask for him at Mellow Mushroom.

I am serious about YouTube. Also go look at the guitar world Facebook page. They post lesson videos daily or every other day. Everything that you want with the exception of someone literally holding your hand is out there.

I understand the benefit of video lessons, but I would like to be able to ask questions too.
