Samsung 50" DLP television purchased in 2005. Just replaced the bulb....

now all of a sudden got a loud grinding noise (not high pitched whining), no picture or audio. Don't think it's the color wheel.

I just replaced the bulb in my DLP.
Did you make sure to replace and fully tighten the screw that came with the replacement bulb housing?
I don't know what else in that area of the TV could make a grinding noise.

did you get an OEM bulb, or after market one? did you make sure it went all the way in, and has been completely tightened down?

My dlp is crapping on me and I got it 08. Just replaced the mirror chip and now my blue light its out and everything is yellow.
Point is, its prob time for a new tv as these things seem to go from bad to worse.

i got a 50" samsung dlp. lasted maybe 3 years. replaced the bulb 4 times.. mirrors went out.
samsung did replace them on certain TVs. just not mine. threw it out
dlp is crap. the technology was great, but lcd/plasma caught up with it partly bc of all the moving parts and the unit would get hot.

Do yourself a favor and go to Sears and buy the 60" Samsung Plasma they have on sale right now for $679.
