I'm not getting into the debate of who will be starting. I personally don't care as they are both Tigers. The coaches will start whomever they feel gives the team the best chance to win.

With all the Harris hype and people on the train believing he will start, where does that leave Jennings if this does come to fruition?

Does he transfer, is he content being a backup, does the take the motivation to up his game and challenge for the starting position again?

I'm just concerned he may transfer for playing time if he doesn't get the starting spot. I like the kid and he has a ton of potential, plus that would leave us without a reliable 2nd string guy.

Thoughts?

Are you implying that he would leave before the end of the 2014 season? If that is you question, the answer is no.

I'm pretty sure that we will continue to sign QBs in the future though.

I was thinking about this the other day. If he does, I would expect him to, it would put a serious dent in our depth chart. But I think it might actually be better long term to establish a good QB and bring in recruits behind him that know they are in line. It was bound to happen with our bad run of QB's we had. Now that Cam has control of the O, he can create a depth chart of kids coming to LSU prepared to work hard and wait their turn. Good news is Jennings isn't going anywhere this year.

Hopefully one separates himself from the other by mid August to prepare for Wisconsin. If that is Harris and I am Jennings, I look at my future and wonder if I should leave. I still predict Jennings will start to avoid throwing in a true freshman but I don't know how good Harris really is in practice.

If Harris starts and does well later in the season, I doubt Jennings will stay. Which kills our depth. We just lost 3 QBs from our roster last year in Mett, Rivers, and Rettig. Losing Jennings would suck if Harris got injured.

Any QB that can learn under Cam would be foolish to transfer early in their career. Period.

clearly it's all speculation, genius

I don't expect Jennings to make any move prior to this season under this scenario. However, if this plays out, this time next year could be interesting.

I still expect Jennings to start against Wisconsin.

Well, seeing as how Harris has played exactly the same number of meaningful snaps in college football as I have, I think it's fair to say that we have no idea how good/bad a QB he is. With that being the case, I doubt Jennings would transfer, in August, just because Harris was named the starter for the first game. It's not like he would be sitting behind some 3 year established starter with virtually no chance to get into the game (absent injury).

After the season it may be a different story, but not before or during.

Oh ok speculating about our possible starting QB transferring is reasonable. Carry on.

I think Jennings gets the nod just because BH is a true frosh but as the season wears on, BH gets inserted more and more until the starting job is eventually his. And I think Jennings stays.

But I really have no clue. Just an opinion.

I'm just curios how these guys think just bc they transfer from LSU they some how have better chance starting at another D1 school.

Let's be honest, outside a juco transfer and a couple inherited guys, the qb position at LSU has been a fail since LM has been here.

I think AJ should stAy put.

There are only 2 scholarship QBs on the roster. There is no depth chart.

What do these 2 statements have to do with each other?

And so what if Mett was a Juco transfer? I'm pretty sure that still counts as a successful QB in the Miles era.

Yeah he'd definitely transfer out. Which makes it even more important LSU finds a good QB for the 2015 class

If Harris starts, more than likely Jennings will be gone for 2015 then we are in serious trouble. If so, we have Harris, then....we currently have 0 QB commits for 2015. We do have one for 2016 though.
