Nothing. But hes not really talking tactics, all he is doing is critizing Klinsmans "defeatist attitude" going into this world cup.
I can't say I don't agree with him on some points.

Eh. He's just talking smack on his tv show.

Much worse is Arena's nonsense about how the team should be composed of MSL players and always have an American coach.

Klins spoke the truth who cares if it rustled jimmies.

The American sports culture just doesn't work in big time soccer in the aspect he is talking about.

I always liked this PTI segment on US Soccer. Also, it gets lost when you read Wilbon's words, but they are always over-the-top on the show. He doesn't literally want Klinsmann to leave America.

Lol at anyone saying Jurgen has a defeatist attitude.

Compare "we are not yet at a level to win the World Cup" in December to the teeth-gnashing of the past two weeks that basically adds up to "we are not at a level that we can compete without Landon Donovan."

i think it's smart, motivation-wise, to try to avoid the big picture and focus on the game by game. players don't need to worry about the impossible odds of all those games stacked up, just worry about each individual match as it comes and stay focused on that. that's our best chance to make noise. stay loose and have no pressure compared to Germany and Portugal in our group.

Yea, I don't think he has a defeatist attitude. I just think hes a dick and doesn't like Donovan. He strikes me as someone who would be a dick if you met him in a bar.

“I’ve known Kobe Bryant,” Wilbon said. “And you, Mr. Klinsmann, are no damn Kobe Bryant."

That's a compliment, right? Who would want to be an alleged rapist?

I don't understand why he said that. When he said it I had to replay the video to see if I missed something.

I was unaware that there was evidence he was a cool guy. Maybe it's my ignorance that whenever I hear a German speak I assume they are talking about invading Poland.

Wilbon also questions what Jurgy has won. Well, since taking the job, he has finshed #1 in the only 2 things he has competed in.

1. Gold Cup
2. CONCACAF Qualifying #1 team

He must not know who Klinsmann the player was.

He's also won the world cup as a player and has taken a team to the semi-finals as a coach.

So, yeah, I think he knows what he's talking about with regards to our chance for success.

No one denies that Jurgen is right about the U.S. having no chance to win this World Cup. No coach could take the current roster and win it this year. However, Jurgen's approach may just be taking the NT in the right direction, which of course will be the most important aspect of his legacy if the development yields future rewards and establishes a foundation for continued international competitiveness.

I'm a big picture guy and I agree with his focus on the future, even if he can be an arse about it in execution.
