Had purchased a small 36w LED bar to mount at the front of my kayak for fishing at night. . . I had it setup to clip on to a 12v battery and it worked well for a couple of trips.

Said light took a spill a few weeks ago going down the interstate, so I decided to upgrade and get a 72w light this time.

Issue I have is that the 36w bar had only a positive and negative, no ground. Whereas the new 72w has a +, -, GND wire.

Now I am no electrician. . . so what do I do with the GND? Solder the GND to the -?

The light you bought is a 3 mode light.

If you want flood light (wide beam) you hook Red wire to positive post and the Black wire to Negative post.

If you want Spot light you hook Blue wire to positive post and the Black wire to Negative post.

If you want Both you hook Red and the Blue wires to positive post and the Black wire to Negative post.

Wire in a double pole, double throw DPDT SWITCH. You can use both modes that way.

No Problem, now go catch fish before the gators get you.
