Went there for honeymoon. Not much to do outside of resorts but beaches were beautiful. Lots of Europeans. We stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real (think that was the name). Beautiful resort.

This....we went for honeymoon as well, it was nice but would probably go to different island next time.

Same here. The Excellence was awesome but we really couldn't leave the resort. It's in the middle of nowhere.
I wouldn't go back.

Very meh. Stayed at Sanctuary Cap Cana, which was nice. Not worth the hassle of international travel.

Northern part of island is prettier. Punta Cana is too touristy.

Got married and had honeymoon there. We liked it a lot. It is really great value for the money.

Same as others, honeymoon was there. Stayed on resort, beach is great, the place is poor as shite. If you go stay at a resort like sandals or something you heard of. My wife and I stayed at a place with mostly foreigners, still had great time, but a place like Sandals or something would have been a little better.

Same here. Honeymooned in April. Stayed at Paradisus Palma Real. The resort is nice. Great beach. But as others have stated, you're pretty much stuck at the resort. Island overall is very poor.
The resort is all inclusive which is nice. But beware. If you don't decide to do the "Royal Service", which is like an additional $500, you will absolutely have difficulty getting into some of the restaurants. We basically had to beg and plead one of the nicer concierges.
Overall a good experience, but I wouldn't go back likely. I'm not much of a beach guy anyway.

DR is a pit. Took a day trip to Santo Domingo which was pretty cool, but i dont think id go back.
