Google Ads Have Become Scary Accurate

I just started using a work computer without ad block and had no idea how tailored Google banner ads had become. Back in the day it was always just random crap no one would ever click on. The last four on the left side of this screen have been for the brand of pants that I am currently wearing, the watch that I want, student loan refinancing, and my favorite hotel in Vegas. No wonder a share of their stock costs a million dollars.
Thought: If I looked at depraved shite all day would I be seeing much more interesting banner ads?

Pretty much. I've been looking at flights to London and everytime I pull up this site it's like a fricking travel agency.

I received an e-mail about some roofing work in my G-Mail, and then the ads starting to be about roofing.

You know how google picks the ads you see, right?

I posted on TD "that chick will end up working at McDonalds".
Clicked submit, next page had a McDonalds add. Then again, guess it's not all that tailored as I would never eat that crap.

Sometimes google ads match up to stuff I merely think about.

I think I do, but it's just surprising that they're so well-tailored.
ETA: holy shite there's a dentist ad and I just called to schedule an appointment with mine.

Shouldn't it be
"scaringly"
or
"scarily"

I think they got in trouble a while back for digging into e-mails and tailoring ads; however, I guess they still do it.

I choose to use it as an adverb.

You used it as an adjective, I do believe.

That's the entire point of offering Gmail free. It's in the terms and conditions that they tailor ads based on email (and browsing) content
