Morrow hasn't finalized decision to opt out

Earlier tonight, Morrow retweeted a story saying that he has not finalized his decision to opt in.
I've paraphrased McNamara's thoughts on the situation from Twitter:
"The only way this would make sense for Morrow is so that he could get his Early Bird rights next offseason. Dell could have a deal with Morrow for him to opt in and then we use his Early Bird rights next summer, which would allow us to pay him up to 5.5 million for between 2 and 4 years. For those unfamiliar with Bird rights, they basically allow you to go over the cap to sign a player. Otherwise, it would make no sense for him to opt in because he can make more elsewhere.
A similar scenario has happened before. JR Smith opted in for just over 2 mil prior to 2012 season despite the fact that he probably could have gotten much more elsewhere. Then, using Early Bird Rights, the Knicks took care of him the following summer."

I think Morrow realizes how important finding a team with good fit is for his career, so he won't leave the Pelicans lightly, but especially since this seems directed by his agent, this is about maximizing his value. Just look at the timing of everything. A minimum contract player on a lottery team opting out was covered like it was headline news because there was nothing else in the news cycle at the time. "Hey Conference Finals losers, Anthony Morrow is available."

Yeah he seemed to really enjoy being here.
I have a good feeling we'll bring him back

It's really hard to say because our offer could be as little as $2 million with all 6 guards back plus adding Pierre Jackson to the logjam, or you could see Gordon, Pierre and one of Roberts/Rivers gone in trades and Demps have the MLE to work with in resigning Morrow. Those are extremely different situations to weigh against a good playoff team offering you $3 million and a clear role.

It's definitely possible that 2 of Roberts/Rivers(I hope not)/Gordon/Jackson will be gone(which would free up some minutes)
There's also minutes at the 3 that he could soak up with AFA gone. We really only have babbit and miller.

I honestly think that Morrow wants to be here. I think the uncertainty of the whole situation will be the biggest issue.
