Everyone has had that speck that was sky busted and is clearly still alive and when you get it back into the blind it feels the need to flap around like a maniac and make all kinds of noise.

What is you go to method of killing it?

1.) Ringing its neck. Works every time but you always break the neck and then when you put it on the lanyard you pull it's head off and that's just a pain in the arse.

2.) Phil Robertson style (biting it's head). This method rarely works on geese given that their skulls are so damn hard and I don't feel like cracking a molar. More suited for ducks.

3.) Pocket knife to the the base of the head where the neck meets the skull. Good in theory, but then you actually do it and the bird starts spraying blood everywhere and it's still flapping like a re re.

4.) Slap it's head against the stock of your gun. I find this works 50-75 percent of the time. This is my go to method.

What method do you use?

I do it on the lip of the pit. If you catch the back of it's head right on that thin piece of iron it's night night time.

For ducks, grab bird by his body and slam his head against either the wall or the shelf. Add to stringer. Screw geese.

Just like you whop a frog on a tailgate or edge of boat before skinning, right before he bellows one last time.

#1 or #4

#1 not an issue for Canadas w/ head coming off

#4 is PITA for Canadas they are too big too swing and hit their head on so I will use a rock or board to whackem

I really enjoy watching my dog body slam a wounded Canada, after a couple of tentative encounters he figured out that you have to be like PP7 on a receiver coming across the middle – just takem out and stun them

Do you use Riceland calls?

If so, do you have any experience with the wood/acrylic?

I'm looking at getting new call.
