Need a good IT company in BR for small businesses

The people we use now suck to an exponential rate. We have a small office of about 10 people. Can anyone recommend a solid IT company that is also not obscenely pricey. Thanks

Good people. Been dealing with them for 10+ years.
Skip is the owner. Ask for him.

They all suck , some just less than others

What do you consider "obscenely pricy"?
Your computer network is not really something you want to skimp on if at all possible. A bunch of $300 pcs you bought at Office Depot and the cheapest network switch you can find are going to make you insanely frustrated no matter who works on them. You have to find a balance between investing in your tech and maintaining productivity.

We're talking about IT companies not Ford-wearing out, getting wife pregnant, crawfish farmers.

the company we use now is something like $300 a month. They do nothing and show up days after we call. Admittedly we pay next to nothing compared to other companies we have gotten quotes from (some upwards of $3000 a month for service on 5 workstations)
I'm thinking a fair price would be $500 a month with perhaps a once a month visit to make sure all pcs are in good working order. We never see the guys we have now unless something fails. then we don't see them for a few days.

300 a month....
About 13 years ago I did that type of work and our charge for offsite work was 110 an hour.. THIRTEEN years ago..
Your best bet would be to put up an ad at LSU and try to hit up a CSC student that knows what they are doing.

yes i know that's a pittance now a days. We are fine paying more, just not 3k a month for a small amount of work stations.

I recommend Verma Systems. As a phone system sales and service company we work with them often and are good at what they do.

What services are you hoping to have the IT company provide for you?

network upkeep
offsite server backups
update and maintenance in some sort of routine (even if its through remote desktop)
on call service for major issues that arise.
Some website work potentially

If you rarely have anyone go out there why get a support contract? There are many place you can call that will do same day service when you need it. Might be 200 an hour (not sure of current rates) but cheaper long run.
If you are requesting phone support and onsite support for little things then 500 is still a little low. Anyplace you go with make sure to have a SLA setup. Some items should be able to wait 2 days to get to. Some should get same day.

We have a contract with the company I mentioned. Pay $500 a month for server maintenance, 8 machines. Unlimited remote support and some onsite visits. Never had an issue only good things to say.
