This just makes sure he doesn't become a UFA next year. They can match any offer.

How much would the team option be?

Some team will offer him a nice check, and he deserves it.

Declining offer this year keeps him restricted so they can match. Waiting until next year he can become unrestricted.

Smart move. See if they can potentially land any of the big FAs while still having the ability to match any offers on him.

Important re: sign and trade. Who would want him if he was about to be a UFA? I think HOU will see what they have to match and then see if they can sign and trade him or let him walk and use the $$ he would take year after this one on a star.

I could see the Lakers or Dallas throwing a huge deal at him

Parsons helps pacify Kobe's delusions of winning another championship, while they'd actually be signing him as a nice piece for their post-Kobe future.

Well that makes more sense

With so many teams having cap space this summer, I can see someone stealing him

If the Bulls miss out on Melo, getting both Parsons and Stephenson should be possible.

The Bulls have the cap space and assets to be aggressive in FA.

Fo sho. Gotta admit I had it all wrong when him and Calathes were at UF

Thought Calathes would be a decent player in teh NBA and Parsons would be out after a few years

Theyd have to dump some players and amnesty Boozer, first. They also couldn't sign Mirotic
