Had a trade offered to me to send Cuddyer and receive Ortiz

Who do you like the rest of the year?

Roto scoring AVG, H, R, HR, RBI, TB, BB and SB

Is Papi only util eligible? Cuddy 1B/OF? Sucks if he can't play 1B

It's not as cut and dry as these dudes are saying

Cuddy is reigning batting champ and silver slugger. Better lineup, better park. We are talking ROS-- cuddy's numbers aren't there bc he was hurt. He's posting a HR/FB rate of 20% (Papi @ 16%) -- that's fricking good. Power is there this season. He'll chip in a few steals, too. That lineup has a few MVP caliber players... Idk

Sox lineup is a dumpster fire this year. 40 y/o and 20 y/o doing all the lifting with no protection for Papi or table setters. (papi also OPSing >.500 the last two weeks).

Don't get me wrong, Papi can still mash. I think cuddyers consistent all around game may be a be a good fit for the above mentioned roto format.

Cuddy vs McCutchen 2013

R 74 --- --- 97

HR 21 --- --- 20

RBI 84 --- --- 84

AVG .331--- --- .316

H 162 --- --- 185

BB 46 --- --- 78

TB 259 --- --- 296

SB 10 --- --- 27

Im guessing AMc is one of the top performers in your league setup? These numbers are from last season in which Cuddyer played 27 games less and 135 PA less than AMc.

Im not saying it's the answer to the Cuddyer vs Ortiz, but that is an interesting comparison. If Cuddyer plays those games then his numbers are surprisingly in AMc's range (SBs and BBs being the largest gap). It really illustrates the impact that lineup and ballpark have on Cuddyer's numbers IMO.

If Cuddyer stays healthy from 6/4 to the end of the season, I would venture to say he outperforms Ortiz in your setup, in my humble estimation.

I would be shocked if Cuddyer replicated his pace from last year rest of the season. On phone, but I am pretty sure he had a stupid high BABIP plus Colorado's outfield is a crowded place with the emergence of Blackmon (although his April is looking slightly flukish). I bet they will still want to get some at-bats for Corey Dickerson and Drew Stubbs.

Maybe just me, but Papi put up like top 10 numbers last year once he got off the DL. I know missing Ellsbury hurts, but he hit another 20 bombs with a strong OPS.
