Anyone know how much shrimp are going for at the dock/boat right now? Also, where's the best place to go get some within driving distance of BR?

I'm not sure about the price. But the season just opened down south (Grand Isle area). And I don't think it opens till this coming weekend in the Lake Borgne area. So, they're still going to be pretty expensive.

Looking to buy 50 lbs or so. Some big uns for frying and some mediums for stews and gumbos.

for that quantity, I'd head to Dularge/Chauvin/Cocodrie. you'll get them at a better price. Just not sure if the fuel expense will negate the savings dockside as opposed to at a local market.

It was $4/lb at the dock in vermilion bay last weekend. They were some very nice shrimp being caught.

Yeah, I'm figuring in the fuel adding $2/lb to the price. I think my dad paid about $12 for jumbos at Brittnys in Baker a couple weeks back, so I'm thinking it will still be worth it.

Sounds like I should go to vermilion... Thanks for the replies. I'll plan on $6ish per lb.

About the same this past week. $6/lb for 16-20 count, $4.20/lb for 26-30 count.

That was a family connection deal. Can't really point you to any market, but if you ask around down there I sure you will get what your looking for. The shrimp where in the 20-30 count range.
