House Hunters International is a fraud

A good buddy of mine was contacted by the show through some mutual friends, where he lives in London and they did an entire show on his condo. They literally moved all of his furniture out of his condo and pretended like it was one of his choices.
Long story short, he had already been living in his condo for three months and the premise of the show obviously ended where he chose the place where he already lives. He got a few painted walls and a new couch out of the deal.
Video is not on YouTube just yet, but I will post whenever I find out that it is ready. I watch this show, so I was very disappointed. But shame on me for assuming that reality TV was actually reality.

I only like the HHI when they buy the balla arse beach pads. I could care less about those crappy, cramped french, english, and italian dumps

It's been well documented that the show is a fraud. Why I don't watch anymore.

not unusual for the show. it is pretty well known that the people have already made their selection prior to "looking"

For me, what is amusing are the couples that are moving overseas with no fricking jobs and no clue of what it will be like to live in these new cities.

Should've asked for way more than that for being inconvenienced.

How is that a fraud?

So you're surprised something on TV is fake?

I had a good friend who lives in Nashville on House Hunters. It is a complete fraud. The house the show said they picked was not even the one they picked. They chose one of the other 3. Pretty stupid, but my wife still watches the hell out of it..

All of the HH shows are frauds.
I know a guy that filmed after he closed on a house and he had never seen any of the other houses prior to filming. Filming also ran almost a year ahead of airing.

I gave up on HH and HHI last year because I heard something similar. My new show is Renovation Realities which to date I haven't heard anything "fake" about it. Real people doing real renovations. I'm sure there is some producing done to it, but they make it look truly real.

I never understood how this information could change someones opinion of the show.

You mean that everything on TV is not real?

Buying on the Bayou looks fake also. A couple of weeks ago that had and episode where a couple was looking at houses on the Bayou in the Tupelo, MS area. Maybe next time they could go about 40 miles north and look at some homes on the Bayous of Tennessee.

Seriously. I only watch it to see the different properties and prices. I don't care which one they actually pick.
Not to mention the production costs of just following some randos who may or may not buy a property in a window of time that may take several months would be enormous.
Of course they pick people who already bought.

Agree. The wife and I watch and laugh when they ask for city center, American-sized fridge and a bath tub on a $500/month budget. You better open the wallet for just one of those items. I speak from experience. Schmucks come over here with no money to spend on rent but want to travel through Europe on the weekends!
