Poche had a damn good year for a true freshman.
Everybody seems to overlook him since he was in the shadows of Nola. Nola was just 7-4 as a freshman.

Agree also....This was a very average baseball team that got hot for two weeks. Hot streak ended this weekend.

IMO alot of the baseball success next year depends on pitching. We need Hunter Newman and Russell Reynolds to come back from injuries. Also need to hope Mac Marshall and guys like Jake Latz actually make campus. Then hope Fraley, Kosmo, and Zardon they latter 2 especially to improve during summer ball. Wish DeHart would've stayed, but I can get why he left not playing.

Poche will be a great Friday night starter
Bouman has really improved since the start of SEC play and he could be a great Saturday Starter
Sunday could be the ? but I think Cartwright could be a good sunday starter.

Hitting will be very strong

from what I have heard we have a strong hitting class coming in.

C Scivicque will be a good hitter if not great
1B Moore could be back next year if he is another strong bat in our lineup
2B Hale or maybe Krob. Hale has a great bat and he will bat in this lineup, the only question is if Krob is still around does he play 2B at all
SS Bregs, well nothing more I need to say here
3B probably a new comer here, but Zardon could also play here
RF laird even though I think there isa chance he goes pro, he has always been a good lead off guy for us
CF Stevenson, very pleasant surprise this year for us.
LF Fraley, our most exciting freshman this year.
DH I guess a newcomer but Scivicque could see time here.

We only have to fill 3B maybe RF if Laird goes pro, and that is about it.

We shouldn't lose that many arms in our bullpen. Broussard may go pro, Nola obviously goes pro, Fury and McCune are seniors, so outside of them we don't have that much to replace.

So I would say next year we should be near the top of the SEC again and hopefully get a top 8 seed. If Bouman and Cartwright improve as they should we could be very good with our rotation.

2015 should be a good year for the baseball tigers.

Poche while probably will never be as good as Nola will be a great Friday Night Starter.

note: 254 days I think (if opening day is Feb 13th)

who plays at 2B

note: that was just a guess based on this year, I really don't know much about new comers so others probably have better guesses than I do.

Even after last night where myself and the majority of people here lost our cool I am able to realize how great we are going to be in 2015. The 2014 was good but you can't expect a team to lose so much offensive firepower to continue at such a high level. Nola is what saved us this year

Anyways here's my roughly 2015 Opening Weekend projected lineup:

C - Kade Scivique

1B - Tyler Moore

2B - Connor Hale

SS - Bregs

3B - Greg Deichmann (FR)

LF - Jake Fraley

CF - Andrew Stevenson

RF - Mark Laird

DH - Jordan Twin (FR)

Bench: Other Jordan twin (FR), K-Rob, Zardon, Chinea, Sciambra, Foster

Fri Night - Jared Poche
Sat Night - Mac Marshall (FR)
Sun Night - Hunter Newman

Mid Week - Parker Bugg, Kyle Bouman

Bullpen - Parker Bugg, Kyle Bouman, Alden Cartwright, Jake Latz (FR), Russell Reynolds, Hunter Devall, Alex Lange (FR)

Closer - Zac Person

depending on his improvement in fall ball, I think Bouman may get shot as a weekend stater.

I think Bugg could be a good set up or even a closer.

Now I had heard we had pretty good odds to get Deichmann here from my fellow Crusader rumblings that I've been hearing. Marshall is probably a reach and prob just an issue of if he gets enough $

Marshall probably has a better chance of being in Baton Rouge next year than most people think

Poche had a better year than Nola did as a freshman. With another year under Dunn, I expect him to take another step forward.

If I read the tea leaves right, we can set our expectations and goals for 2015 to be SEC Champions. That seems to be the crowning jewel for our program and the "vision" from the administration. Fill the Box as many times as we can, win the SEC and everyone gets a raise and an award.

Perfect Game has good recruiting stuff but you have to have a subscription to read a lot of their stuff. I usually follow Baseball America for draft stuff.
