He probably pulled all his hair out over UH and Irvine abusing their pitchers today

This one one thing CPM does better than a lot of coaches in the country. A coach will risk a players future for the sake of a win. CPM on the other hand is concerned it appears with his players futures, he knows that for many of his players LSU is just a step into much greater things and it isn't all about LSU. There are plenty of times he could have over worked Nola but he stayed on the exact same rest schedule the entire season and Nola will be fully ready to start working his way to the majors.

CPM may make us stretch his head but he doesn't over work his pitchers and risk their careers.

I think Alan Dunn has a lot to do with it also

This.

Side note: If you do the math for the past quarter-century then a rough average of 1 out of every 7 LSU freshman recruits eventually ends up in the majors. (I wonder how that stacks up against other teams?)

obviously but I can't remember CPM ever doing this in his career as Head coach.

Win or lose, shite like this deserves to be called out. Same should hold true for the UC-Irvine coach.

I am really glad CPM protects our pitchers the way he does. The act of pitching is damaging enough as it is, pushing it to high pitch count numbers is just unnecessary.

Of course last night there were some jackasses sitting behind me that were screaming to fire CPM for not putting in Nola during Houstons 7 run inning. I couldn't hold back from turning around and letting them know how stupid they were.

Kennesaw did this too with their ace.

Fact is, these teams are moving on and LSU isn't.

Does this kid really have a future? This NCAA tourney run will be the pinnacle of his career.

I could understand if he was a big time MLB prospect.

Nobody bitched when Skip did this with Ben McDonald. He did okay for himself.
