John Stewart vs Stephen Colbert

Personally, I love Colbert. He's entire persona is just hilarious.
Stewart on the other than, I can't fricking stand. It has nothing to do with my political views either. I just think his show is pretty unbearable. I know Stewart came first, but I think Colbert has gone above and beyond him. If you prefer John Stewart, please explain to me why.
Who do y'all think is a better comedian/satirist?

I like both but I'd take Stewart over Colbert b/c he is much better at interviewing people.
Colbert too often lets his shtick get in the way of his interviews. Hopefully he'll be better when he drops the Hannity parody.

I really don't care about fluff interviews from celebrities that are being blown by stewart the entire interview. if im sitting through those then I want some comedy in it

Stewart is smart and often funny but he's just so damn snarky I can't watch him regularly.

Colbert is the man. Hilarious.

Stewart is fair though, and an equal opportunity offender. If a leftie comes on his show that he had a gripe with, he'll call them out on it. He's biased, but he's fair.

I disagree about Stewart, I think he gets very hypocritical at certain points in the year. To be fair I don't watch him very often anymore , I like Colbert a lot better.
It seemed to me that Stewart gets somewhat hypocritical sometimes and too political where it gets in the way of the show and he starts to get more concerned about being right than discussing the issue with the other party.

Some part of me misses subtlety.

The Colbert character is great, but is just a character. I've heard it is considerably different outside of that persona (not necessarily for better or for worse, just out of character)
Stewart certainly has his own flaws but I do think his show is pretty good at targeting the massive hypocrisy in both the government and the media.
