Getting MLB 14 soon, what should I play first?

Because I've recently been drawn to the dark side, I actually kind of like baseball now. At least enough to convince me that The Show will be a solid pick up.
Anyway, I haven't done a lot of research, but which game mode is the most fun. RTTS or Franchise (or whatever it's called in MLB The Show)?
ETA: Of course all preferences are different, but I'm mostly asking which is generally received better than the other. Will end up playing both sooner or later.

I prefer RTTS...It's just something about actually upgrading my player and actually seeing results...Especially when I'm on a hot streak...I'm already in MLB with the Cardinals to...I'm a SS at like 85/86 Overall now.

RTTS is fun but I prefer franchise with a fantasy draft and building a team from scratch.

I buy this game strictly for rtts. Never touched any of the other modes.

I suck at hitting, I dont want to swtich from Analog. I tried to do a franchise but for some reason not matter what I do I can not control the Defense.
I think I have the dumb.

I have mlb 2013 and I have played the red sox for two seasons and have won the world series and lost the world series - the second time I SIM'd thru the playoffs and lost. I guess playing a full 162 game schedule is just tiresome.
Currently playing RTTS (SP) and started in AA and now with dodgers mlb, did play 1 1/2 seasons in AAA.

I made a Pitcher in RTTS. I had a horrible showcase, went in the seventh round. Currently playing in the minors with the Bowie Baysox. Played in five games, 4-1 (technically 4-0). I was pulled in the 7th of the one loss, which was my most recent game. It went to a 10th inning and we lose 1-0.
Pretty fun.

question - I thought in rtts format that you started in AA ball - I guess you can set it for college ball?

Gorilla, that's a new system they implemented this year. You play a 3 game showcase to show off your "talent". At the end of the 3 games, you will see where you get drafted. If you don't like your draft spot or the team who drafted you, you can choose to go back to a 1 or 2 year community college or a 3 or 4 year college. If you choose to go back to college you get a small amount of training points to improve your guy. If you choose to go back to a 4 year college, that is your only chance to improve your draft stock. After that you are then assigned to a double A team.

ok my current sp is in mlb on the dodgers team, I might create a new sp and use the "showcase" mode. thanks for the reply. I might consider another position, but I like to play a full schedule and SIM less - so if I choose another position I think it takes up to much time - with a sp I can only pitch every 5th day.

I am doing a franchise right now. Losing really badly, and a big injury.
Might restart it because I am not happy with moves I have made.
