Wife talked me into starting this as a summer series this weekend.

Don't know how I missed it when it aired originally, but we binged through about 10 episodes since Friday night and it has been really good imo.

A good continuing murder mystery blended with case of the week type situations. Good cast with all very likable characters, especially Veronica, her dad, Logan, and Weavel.

Also lots of current stars that got their start in bit or recurring roles here like Schmidt from New Girl, Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, and several others.

Hope it stays solid, but so far I really recommend this for anyone looking for a summer series that likes high school dramedy type shows in the 90210/OC genre.

Yeah I was hoping this wasn't the case. Will be hard to keep at this level once the Lilly murder is solved, which I'm assuming will be this season's finale.

The characters they've built up though should allow them to move past this initial mystery I hope.

Love the relationship between Veronica and her dad.

I recently binged all three seasons. I had never seen it before and am happy that I gave it a shot. It is a solid series. Season 1 is the best, then 3 and finally 2 IMO.

Same, I had to be talked into it because it didn't seem like the kind of thing I would enjoy. Glad I did, the movie was great too.

i really wist the movie had focused around the Fitzpatrick story line that was left open at the end of season 3.

a ton of cameos in the movie.

It really is a great show.

I'd say the second season is just as good, if not better than the 1st. The 3rd season is definitely not quite as good as the first two though.

false. all 3 seasons are great. 2 is best, then 1 and 3rd is clearly last but still enjoyable nonetheless.

Awesome. Glad to hear the board approves and it stays at a high level throughout. I hadn't seen it mentioned much on here before.

As a Buffy fan, I'm really surprised this got past me when it aired originally. This has a similar Scoob vibe imo.

Also really surprised that it was cancelled after only three seasons. WB/UPN usually have a pretty slow hook with smart shows like this.

Did the merge to CW play into the decision not to renew? Got lost in the shuffle maybe?

Anyway, glad to see it has a following here and can't wait to make it to the movie

First two seasons are very good. Third is not worth watching.

So I just got done watching the series a few days ago and did the movie last night.

enjoyed it throughout

season 1 was great and I was genuinely surprised by some of the twists and reveals.

2 was also good but I was left wondering exactly what all about the killer was actually revealed to the public. Seems like a lot of the details were kept quiet considering how specific people carry on in season 3.

I have to agree that 3 is the weakest season but I appreciate that they tried to do something a little different by having smaller cases to solve rather than one big long overarching plot. It caused the season finale to not have the same momentum but they obviously weren't expecting to get canceled since their rating were holding so well so I'll forgive them for leaving it more opening ended than the others.

The movie was a fan service-gasm. It was a little choppy in parts which is probably due to them struggling with having so much more time for content but not enough time to flesh out all the threads. The secondary plot with the shooting was a little out of left field and really wasn't given the time it deserved. I also wish they had just used a different character than Leighton Meesters since they had to recast her due to scheduling conflicts but it was the biggest deal. Overall though, I enjoyed it and I hope that they will be able to make more in the future.

As a side note, I kind of wish they had really milked the kickstarter campaign and gone for stretch donations that could have turned it into a 2 or 3 episode mini series instead of a film. Odds are the studio wouldn't have allowed that though since it seems to have been a test on the profitability of same day VOD/theater released films.

Overall, I give the series and movie a solid A- and now will but a silly sucker fanboy that goes out and reads the books since they will be considered canon.

I liked season 3 the best.

The movie is good for anyone who likes the show. Its just a big long episode. I don't see why any fan of the show would dislike it.
