I'm streaming from laptop to TV using a HDMI cable but not getting an HD picture.
Am I missing something ?

Thanks in advance.

Is it HD on the laptop without the HDMI cable plugged in?

The website has a quality meter toward the bottom if I recall so pay attention to that.

Try flipping the HDMI cable around.

Well that makes it strange. If it's HD on your laptop it should send that same quality to your TV.

Do you have another TV with a HDMI port to test on? If you do then try it on the other TV to try and narrow it down to possibly the HDMI cable or TV.

I need a separate audio cable for my laptop to tv but the video connection is VGA, not HDMI. I think audio transmits via HDMI. However, it's worth a try if you have the audio cable (same type of cable to connect an iphone to auxiliary port on a car radio for instance).
