Have they always done this or is this something new?

I still have the unlimited data plan with the iPhone.

They're going to lose a lot of customers if they start fricking with the grandfathered data too much.

No I haven't gotten that message and i use my phone for nearly all of my surfing.

I get it once a month. It's mostly due to me switching to 4G to upload tumblr videos quicker.

Sounds like you just got ungrandfathered

I would be pissed if that happened to me

Just try switching to porn watching on your computer instead of phone. Problem solved.

They want to get rid of all grandfathered data plans. This is how they will go after them.

3GB on the first of the month?

I got it once when I was still grandfathered into the unlimited. I chose to do away with unlimited to reduce our fam bill

anyway, they knock you down a speed basically. If you have an LTE capable phone, you get knocked down to 4G, or 3G for data surfing

you aren't ungrandfathered to unlimited. They have always done this

billing cycles do not necessarily start at the first of the month

this is why I switched off of it. Three people were using less than 2 GB a month

knocked our bill down more than 100 bucks a month

I had the unlimited data also, but they would throttle me once I reached 3 GB. The throttled speed is almost unusable. I recently switched my plan and lost the unlimited data, but it doesn't really matter because the throttled speed was horrible. Our group plan is a better deal anyway than the "unlimited" data that my phone used to have.

Why would I use wifi when my 4G phone is faster than most peoples wifi and I have "unlimited" data? This is just a strong arm tactic by AT&T to try and get rid of unlimited plans. I need to check the terms and conditions to see if they can do it.

Yep. A 5g plan is the same price as the $20 unlimited plan with reduced speeds after 2.5g I think.

I've never seen where they say they will choke down the speed. Only they will charge more.

Bunch of BS if you ask me.

What do you do on your phone that you need things to load maybe 1 second sooner?

I got that one before. They throttle the download speed for the rest of the billing cycle when I went over 5 gigs.

Unlimited data plan as well.
