The ball will do very little. Pitchers will not be able to get the same movement but the bats aren't changing.

pitchers won't be able to get as much movement on the ball, plus the lower seams will create less drag so the ball will travel farther.

Pitchers will also be able to throw harder.

It will probably help to some degree. Home run numbers are not going to double but it may force outfielders to play a bit deeper than they're playing this year and allow balls to drop in for hits.

Pitchers accustomed to the higher seams will have to have to adjust as well.

It was fun because LSU dominated, but it really was a joke.

Remains to be seen. Ball can fly up to 20 feet further, but the real difference may be in the increase of velocity for pitchers and less movement on breaking pitches.

Exactly. Gorilla ball was not real baseball. Chicks dig the long ball, but gorilla ball did not really develop players right for the next level.

I don't want Gorilla ball back, but there has to be a happy median. Hopefully the new balls will help equalize this a little bit.

Hitters should be rewarded for putting good swings on the ball, but not to the point where routine fly balls just keep flying out of the park like they did back then.

I won't go so far as to say I miss it, BUT I do miss the fact that a homerun is almost something you rarely have to worry about. Homeruns are a part of the game, but this new bat has almost deadened the threat of the game drastically changing with one swing of the bat.

Sure, there can be a base hit that changes things, but I rarely am ever concerned with a homerun, since they are so hard to come by. The bat design was a gross over reaction.

Exactly. That place is not made for college baseball even with the old -5s.

I dont think pitchers will throw any faster with the new ball,
and I dont think 60'6" is enough distance to affect how fast the ball gets to the plate.
