My dogs cornered a moccasin yesterday, but by the time I got them away a grabbed a shovel it was gone. Went out there this morning and looked along the woodline where it was yesterday, and found a rat snake curled up in a tree. I got him and then looked over and ole cotton is just sitting there watching the action. He wasn't getting away this time.

After viewing the video last year of that cottonmouth eating the rattlesnake, I wonder if a cottonmouth would eat a rat snake? Sure glad we don't have cottonmouths here. They are evil looking. They've got this perpetual look of anger on their face. And do they really stink? I've smelled the cucumber smell of copperheads before, but not every time I've seen one. Just wondering if the cottonmouth has that stink smell if it isn't around nasty water?

You killed a little rat snake? I hope rats invest your house. Nice job on the cotton mouth.

Nice work killing them before you became just another statistic. Especially the rat snake. You could have been one of the zero in two billion people that are killed by non-venomous snakes each year.

I didn't kill rat snakes until I saw one attack my parents martin colony. After that I don't really care to let them live.

I kill everyone I see. I have seen them eat baby chicks, birds, and rabbits.
